Abstract

In Un año, Juan Emar (1893-1964) uses the apparent narrative strategy qf the intimate diary genre, but he conceptualizes it by means ofa crossing between the 1 ofthe narrator and the subject ofthe writing. Thus, the genre isfictionalized allowing that text, metatext and intertextualüy, unit andfragmentation, Man and God, interact like pieces ofa knowledge and ignorance gome, revelation and concealment. This tells us of a broken future, an unstable territory that can only be crossed by means ofa wishing machinen/ that rambles continuously by the limit ofthe abyss. Writing a life dairy is a mimic ofreality, that is to soy, afiction that indulges in the ludic character, the artífice exhibition, and the permanent confrontation betweenfiction and reality. Emar creates afiction and simultaneously exposes the création ofthisfiction to stand out the artífice character ofthefiction, and, at the same time, emphasize thefictionality ofthe extráliterary reality.
