La disolución del futuro

Abstract

This article postulates that we are witnessing the necessary birth of a new moral ofthe artistic activity or its dissolution. From its beginning, the notion ofModernity has been bound to the accomplishment of a project in time. But this project: a free and right society, with predominance ofrationality, has been postponed without being carried out. Just as a relegated promise. The ascending Une, the arrow oftime, is diluted. If Art is to survive as such, it has to be able to engage us in an experience of temporal plenitude, rescuing the beautiful moment within the indefinite árele of time we Uve in. The alternative is no longer between avant-garde or tradition; but on a formal and thematic compromise, with a new temporal sensitivity and a creative use (and, consequently, critical) ofthe images, or the dissappearance ofArt into technique, melted in that technocommunícative unit that constitutes the hyper-aesthetized languages ofthe mass culture.
