An Approach to the Emotive Complex of Art

Abstract
In the philosophy of art, the relationship between art and emotion is often affirmed, especially from the perspective of the so called “expressivist theories”, some of which argue that artworks embody emotions, while others claim that they express, arouse or communicate them. But the appeal to emotions is neither necessary nor sufficient to define art. Notwithstanding, the connection between both of them is important enough to attempt to reconcile theoretically art and emotion, following Collingwood, as well as opening paths for the consideration of the relationship between art and moods.
