Authorship and contribution policy
Authorship criteria
Aisthesis considers as the author of a paper whoever has made a significant intellectual contribution to it.
Following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the following requirements must be met in order to appear as an author:
1. To have participated in the conception and design, in the acquisition of data, or in the analysis and interpretation of the data of the work that has resulted in the article.
2. To have participated in the drafting or critical revision of the text.
3. To have approved the version that will finally be published.
Those who do not meet these three criteria can only be acknowledged in the acknowledgements.
Order of authorship
The order in which authors appear in an article should be jointly agreed upon prior to submission of the manuscript, reflecting the level of contribution of each author.
To eliminate name confusion and ensure proper attribution of publications and citations, this journal requests that each author indicate his or her ORCID ID. Although it alone cannot guarantee a secure identity, the adoption of the ORCID constitutes a form of control against authorship identity fraud.
Changes in authorship
Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of names must be made before the manuscript has been accepted and only with the approval of the director of Aisthesis.
To request this change, the author should send to the Publications Coordinator (revistaaisthesis@uc.cl):
1. The reason that justifies the request for modification of the authorship list.
2. The written confirmation of all authors expressing their agreement with the addition, deletion or rearrangement.
In a manuscript already accepted, the addition, deletion or rearrangement of authors will be considered only if there are exceptional circumstances. Publication of the article will be halted while the request for changes is evaluated, and if the article is already published, any approved request for change will result in a correction notice.
Authorship conflicts
Any change in authorship (addition, deletion or reordering of authors) after submission of the manuscript must be approved by all authors and communicated to the journal with a detailed explanation.
Acknowledgement of contributions
Contributions from individuals who do not meet the authorship criteria, such as technical assistance or financial support, should be acknowledged in an acknowledgements section.
Responsibilities of the corresponding author
The corresponding author will be responsible for communication with the journal during the submission, review and publication process, and will ensure that all requirements of the journal are met.
