Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the presence and relevance of phraseological units related to jewelry in the general language, in the Spanish-French language pair. It also aims to analyze and categorize those specialized phraseological units used in the discourse of jewelry. To this end, a specialized textual corpus on jewelry will be compiled, from which different phraseological units used in this specialized language have been extracted and categorized. A French equivalent has been proposed whenever possible. From this study, more than one hundred phraseological units have been documented, with their respective equivalents, which show the variations between Spanish and French and the marked cultural character of these units, which poses a series of challenges for their translation.
