Abstract

In Chile, as almost everywhere else in the world, the rural population continues to decline. However, the last two national censuses show that in some regions of our country, the rural space is not exempt from a certain demographic dynamism and that this dynamism often goes hand in hand with a dynamism in activities. The article analyzes the situation of a group of communes belonging to these regions, which illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of a rural world marked with the stamp of diversity.
