Abstract

The works in this article represent a paradigm shift in the history of what we call theatre. They are found to be within an epistemology that originated in the concepts of Jarry, Artaud and Valle Inclán, and represented by Freud, Derrida, Deleuze, Barthes or Baudrillard. All of these works, are questioning forms of representation such that they change the Aristotelian-referential-mimetic paradigm into one that is anti-Aristotelian-antireferential/self-referential-antimimetic in which the body, desire, the staged space, the objects and the installations become main characters and primary constituents.
